About this class
Craving a hands-on creative break? Join us at Zönotéka in Neukölln for a fun tufting workshop! No prior experience needed.
In this four-hour introductory class, you'll learn the basics of machine tufting and create your own custom rug or wall hanging (up to 32 cm x 32 cm).
You'll work with tufting guns, choose from a variety of acrylic yarn colors, and craft a personal artwork. Your piece will be finished and ready for pickup after backing.
This workshop is part of Zönotéka's 'Blumen des Bösen' (Flowers of Evil) series, inspired by plant motifs as symbols of global migration.
What's included:
- All tools and materials (canvas, tufting machines, yarn spinners, acrylic yarns)
- Expert guidance in design and tufting techniques
- A unique, handmade rug to take home

What you’ll do in the class
You'll learn to transfer your design onto textile and use a tufting gun. By the end, you'll have created your own colorful rug (approximately 32x32 cm) to take home.
Who is the class suitable for?
This workshop is perfect for beginners:
- The technique is easy to learn, even if you've never used a tufting gun before
- We'll help you create a design or bring your own ideas to life
Note: Working with the tufting gun can be slightly tiring for your hands and back, but the satisfaction of 'drawing' with yarn makes it worthwhile!
